Cameron Carter-Vickers has been one hell of a player for Celtic since joining last summer on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. There were many question marks over whether the United States international was able to solidify what had been a slippery defense for the Hoops for some time. He showed that not only was he capable, but also certain, and you could say he was the club’s player of the season.
Now, however, his long-term future at Parkhead is up in the air. Celtic are believed to have an option to buy included in the loan deal which would be an initial transfer fee of £6m which could rise to £10m with add-ons.
It’s a big sum for Celtic and it would Carter Vickers one of the most expensive signings in club history. Thus, it remains to be seen if the Hoops go ahead with the move, although they are believed to be interested in making the loan deal permanent.
As reported by GIVEMESPORTSpeaking about the situation between Carter-Vickers and Celtic, Michael Bridge said:
“I think that will happen because he’s a player who’s been on loan to all the other clubs, he’s never found his home. He’s had around 20 EFL loans, but he ended up winning the title with the Celtic, so I think he found his home there.
Interesting claim over potential Carter-Vickers move to Celtic
It is true that for the first time in his career, Carter-Vickers seemed to enjoy some stability during his time at Celtic.
Prior to that he had bounced on loan from Championship club to Championship side, spending time at six teams in English football’s Second Division over the years.
On the other hand, he doesn’t seem to have much of a future at Tottenham Hotspur despite his impressive performances for the Hoops this season. His performances, however, appear to have caught the eye of other Premier League clubs which could make things more difficult for Celtic.
But recent rumors suggest they have agreed personal terms with Carter-Vickers which would be a huge boost for the club.
